Zapotal belongs to the first district, Miramar, of Montes de Oro.
Most activities in the area are being developed through the Association ASAGROTUR, in which approximately twelve families participate, formed by approximately twenty men and women.
The Volunteer program of Agrozapotal seeks to contribute to the development of the community of Zapotal, as well as provide a unique experience for the volunteers. The
program is based on contact with the people of the village of Zapotal and the cultural experience, as well as the opportunity to practice Spanish, for non-Spanish speakers. Among the tasks to be carried out by the volunteers during their stay are helping out at the cheese factory, repairing and cleaning of trails, creating signs, among others.
